MENDHAR, MAY 14:-A public outreach meeting of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was held in the remote Narol area of Mendhar subdivision in Poonch district, where several public and developmental issues were discussed in detail. The programme was led by senior BJP leader, former MLC and prominent social figure Murtaza Khan, who addressed gatherings at different locations, particularly in Nayabat Chhatral.
The meeting witnessed the participation of BJP Mandal presidents, party workers, local elders, youth and people from different communities. A number of locals also joined the BJP during the programme, expressing confidence in the leadership and policies of the party.
Addressing the gathering, Murtaza Khan said that injustice and neglect of any area of Mendhar would not be tolerated and assured the people that their concerns would be strongly taken up at every level. He emphasized that remote villages deserve equal development and access to basic facilities.
During the interaction, residents raised several pressing issues including poor road connectivity, shortage of drinking water, erratic electricity supply, inadequate healthcare and educational infrastructure, and rising unemployment. The locals alleged that after the elections, elected representatives had largely remained absent from these backward areas, leaving people disappointed and unheard.
The BJP leader assured the gathering that the party remains committed to public welfare, transparent governance and inclusive development. Highlighting the achievements of the Central Government, he referred to major infrastructure and welfare initiatives such as highways, tunnels, healthcare institutions, railway expansion and reforms in education and public services.
Speaking on the issue of Scheduled Tribe status for the Pahari community, Murtaza Khan said the move has opened new opportunities for the Pir Panjal region and would help channel special development schemes and welfare benefits to deserving sections of society.
At the conclusion of the meeting, local residents appreciated the outreach efforts and expressed hope that their long-pending issues would now receive serious attention.
