RAJOURI NOV 04:-Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) J&K in connection with Vigilance Awareness Week-2024 on Monday (November 4) organised an awareness program at Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU) Rajouri.
Vigilance Awareness Week-2024 was commenced on October 28 in New Delhi with the theme ‘Culture of Integrity for Nation’s Prosperity’ and the integrity pledge was administered to the officials of the CVC by Praveen Kumar Srivastava, Central Vigilance Commissioner and A.S. Rajeev, Vigilance Commissioner.
At Rajouri the ACB organised vigilance awareness for Health & Medical Education Department and NGOs and was also attended by book participants virtually from Jammu, Poonch, Ramban Udhampur, and Budgam.
At the event Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma, IAS, was the Chief Guest while SSP Rajouri, Randeep Singh; Principal GMC Rajouri, A S Bhatia; and Anjum Sahab, DEAN BGSBU were the special guests.
In the event DVO Health, Sanjay Sharma was the speaker while Dr ADS Manhas was the guest speaker and prominent among others present include Chief Medical Officer, ML Rana, all BMOs, and Paramedical staff from different health blocks.
DIG, Anti-Corruption Bureau J&K, Vikas Gupta and Director Health Services Jammu, Dr Rakesh Mangotra joined the event virtually while SSP ACB Jammu HQs, Sandeep Wazir was present in the event.
ACB officers delivered a powerpoint presentation (PPP) explaining different causes of corruption in the health department, including in appointments, purchasing of medicines etc, and how to prevent these corruptions.
The DC Abhishek Sharma in his compelling address underscoring the shared responsibility in battling corruption & urged students and future leaders to embrace integrity in their professional and personal lives, emphasizing that honesty in governance is essential for progress.
SSP Rajouri, Randeep Kumar highlighted the role of law enforcement in fostering accountability & encouraged attendees to take an active role in upholding transparency and vowed to continue strengthening anti-corruption measures within the district.
Principal of GMC Rajouri, A.S. Bhatia, commended the university’s initiative, emphasizing that educational institutions are vital in instilling ethical values among youth. He called on students to lead by example, as they will shape the ethical standards of future governance.
Medical Superintendent Associated Hospital GMC Rajouri, Dr Shamim Choudhary focused on vigilance in healthcare, stressing that integrity in service is as critical as financial transparency.
BMO Nowshera, Dr Iqbal Malik, added that healthcare professionals bear the dual responsibility of patient care and ethical conduct, marking vigilance as fundamental to their role.
Deputy SP HQs, Shatist Kumar addressed vigilance within law enforcement, reinforcing that ethical policing sets a powerful precedent for society. He affirmed the importance of accountability, stating that transparent operations within police ranks build public trust.
The observance included a pledge by attendees, committing themselves to transparency and ethical practices.
