Rajouri and Udhampur Police Organised Thana Diwas in Ramnagar and Sunderbani

UDHAMPUR/RAJOURI APRIL 30:–‘Public outreach programme, Thana Diwas- an initiative of Government of J&K, was organised by Udhampur Police in Ramnagar.

The Programme was chaired by SDPO Ramnagar Dr. Bhishm Dubey, While SHO PS Ramnagar Insp. Pushpinder Singh and other officers and officials were also present on the occasion.
Sarpanches, Panches, Civil Society members and respectables participanted in this event.
During the Programme, participants highlighted various issues of public importance, and they were assured that their genuine grievances pertaining to Police will be resolved on priority and that of Civil administration will be taken up with the concerned departments for their early redressal. While speaking on the occasion, it was reiterated that policing at grassroot level in the District would be revamped to enhance proficiencies of the cops and to develop confidence among the people.

SDPO Ramnagar while speaking on the occasion, said that Thana Diwas is an initiative started by the Government of J&K to bridge the gap between Police and Public and also to hear and redress the grievances of common masses.He appealed to the participants to cooperate with the police in the eradication of crime and more specifically drug menace and also help in maintaining law and order in the area. On this occasion,06 no.of character verifications and 10 birth/death certificates were also issued on spot.

The participants appreciated the initiative of the government to organise the ‘Thana Diwas’ by J&K Police which will help in prompt redressal of their issues.

In Rajouri District Thana Diwas : Public meetings also held at Sunderbani

In an effort of strengthening public relations and to listen to the grievances of masses in a cordial atmosphere, Rajouri police on Saturday organised Thana Diwas at Police Station Sunderbani.

Programme was chaired by SDPO Nowhsera Tusif Rishu alongwith SHO PS Sunderbani SD Singh besides other officers and officials were also present on the occasion.

There are 19 panchayats in the area of ​​the police station.meeting was organized into two ; morning and afternoon sessions.

In morning session people of 10 panchyats was redress by SHO Sunderbani and afternoon session 09 Panchyats by SDPO Nowshera.

The meeting was attended by Sarpanchs, Panchs, Civil Society members and on spot redressal were also entrained in which seven birth certificates, four death certificates, three passports verification and eight character verification were issued.

Chairing officer while speaking on the occasion, said that Thana Diwas is an initiative started by the Government of J&K to bridge the gap between Police and Public and also to hear and redress the grievances of common masses and further added that Community policing is mandatory to boost public confidence which would help in fighting against crime and social evils.

Referring to the criminal activities in the area, it was stressed upon the officers to brace up with a missionary spirit to fight against drug abuse and eradicate other social evils from the society and to take a pledge to serve the society with missionary spirit and maintain the dignity of force.

The participants were requested to cooperate with Police in maintaining law and order in the area and identifying anti-national & anti-social elements who are hell bent to disrupt the peaceful environment.“`
