RAJOURI, JULY 15:– Continuing its sustained campaign against drug trafficking under the Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan, District Police Rajouri on Wednesday arrested an alleged drug peddler and recovered heroin-like narcotic substance from his possession during a routine naka checking in Thanamandi.
According to police, the arrest was made at Churung Pull, Thanamandi, where a police team from Police Station Thanamandi was conducting routine checking. During the operation, a person allegedly attempted to flee after noticing the police party. The police team chased and apprehended him.
During his personal search, police recovered 3.29 grams of heroin-like narcotic substance from his possession.The accused has been identified as Fayaz Ahmed, son of Nazar Hussain, a resident of Tharhwali Shahdara, Thanamandi.
Police have registered FIR No. 102/2026 under the relevant provisions of the NDPS Act at Police Station Thanamandi. Further investigation into the case is underway.
District Police Rajouri reiterated its commitment to eradicating the drug menace from the district and appealed to the public to cooperate with law enforcement agencies by sharing any information related to drug trafficking or narcotics activities.
