SRINAGAR FEBRUARY 17:-A high-level delegation of the Shah-re-Khass Traders and Chambers (SKT&C) on Tuesday held a crucial meeting at the Cluster Office of Jammu & Kashmir Bank in Maharaj Gunj, Srinagar, to address mounting grievances over delays in the implementation of the Mission YUVA scheme.
The meeting, led by SKT&C Chairman Bashir Ahmad Kanu, was convened following formal complaints against more than 30 bank branches operating across Downtown Srinagar. The Chamber alleged that unnecessary procedural hurdles and bureaucratic delays at the branch level were hampering the aspirations of unemployed youth seeking financial assistance under the scheme.
Speaking during the meeting, Chairman Bashir Ahmad Kanu said that while Mission YUVA was launched to empower young entrepreneurs, many eligible applicants were facing prolonged waiting periods and repeated documentation requirements.
The delegation presented documented cases highlighting delays in loan processing despite applicants fulfilling eligibility norms. In response, senior officials of Jammu & Kashmir Bank assured the delegation that a strict Turnaround Time (TAT) mechanism would be implemented for all Mission YUVA loan applications.
Bank authorities further committed to ensuring a transparent and streamlined approval process so that genuine beneficiaries do not face undue delays in sanction and disbursement of loans.
The SKT&C delegation included Waseem Khan (General Secretary), Abid Ahmad Mir (Advisor to Chairman), and Firdous Ahmad Beigh (Executive Member).
The Chamber emphasized that it will closely monitor the functioning of Downtown branches in the coming weeks to ensure that the assurances given by the bank translate into tangible relief for the youth of Shah-re-Khass.
