SRINAGAR AUGUST 23:-Chairperson of the J&K Waqf Board and Minister of State Dr Syed Darakhshan Andrabi has hit out at the opposition, saying political rivals are “never happy” when someone works hard, while asserting that the opposition will continue to play its role in Parliament and the Assembly.
Speaking to ANI, Andrabi said India’s progress under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership over the past 12–13 years was evident and alleged that the opposition was unable to “digest this success.”
On US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor’s recent remark describing Jammu and Kashmir as “an important part of India,” Andrabi said Pakistan would continue to raise issues, but asserted that people in Kashmir were happy being part of India.
“Pakistan always has one issue or another. But as for our Kashmir, we are happy being with India—and we always have been,” she said.
Referring to the abrogation of Article 370, Andrabi said the situation in Jammu and Kashmir had normalised and that people were moving forward.
“Now that Article 370 has been revoked, the situation here has normalized, and people are moving forward happily,” she said, adding that those who continued to raise the issue could “keep harping on the same old tune.”
The remarks were made during an interaction with ANI, which also shared the video of Andrabi’s statements on its official X account.
