Narcotics peddler nabbed in Thannamandi, Heroine recovered

Rajouri,June 23:– Jammu and Kashmir police in Rajouri’s Thanamandi sub division nabbed a person for smuggling narcotics and recovered 35 grams of suspected Heroine from his possession.

Police in its official statement said that a team headed by Station House Officer Thanamandi Fareed Ahmed under the supervision of Sub Divisional Police Officer Thanamandi Sajjad Khan was on routine patrolling when a pedestrian near Thanamandi town coming towards the patrolling team tried to change his way which created suspicion for cops.

” He was chased and intercepted at some distance and put to frisking.” said police.

35 grams of narcotic powder, suspected to be Heroine, was recovered from his possession.

Accused have been identified as Mohammad Latief son of Kamal Din resident of Chackchotipura in Shopian.

A case in FIR 120/2020 under sections 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered in Thanamandi police station and further investigation into the matter is on.

Senior Superintendent of Police Rajouri Chandan Kohli said that Rajouri police is working hard to check the activities of people involved in narcotics smuggling with many arrests have been made in recent past in the district.
