RAJOURI APRIL 13:-In a remarkable boost to the cultural and literary landscape of Rajouri, the Grand Mufti of Jammu and Kashmir, Nasir Ul Islam, unveiled two significant books authored by noted writer Liaqat Ali Choudhary during a prestigious literary function.
The books, Shaan-e-Meem and Tazkira Aulia-e-Kiram, were released before a large and distinguished audience comprising scholars, intellectuals, and members of the public. The occasion was particularly historic as it marked the first time the Grand Mufti presided over and addressed a literary event of this nature.
In his keynote address, the Grand Mufti highlighted the indispensable role of literature in safeguarding cultural and spiritual heritage. He remarked that writers and scholars act as guiding forces in society by promoting knowledge, ethics, and enlightenment. He also lauded Liaqat Ali Choudhary for his valuable literary contributions, especially in strengthening religious understanding and intellectual awareness.
Calling for unity, he urged religious scholars (Ulama) to rise above differences and work collectively for the betterment of society. Expressing concern over the increasing menace of drug addiction among youth, he advised young people to stay away from harmful influences and appealed to parents to actively guide and support their children.
During an interaction with children present at the event, he stressed the importance of education and encouraged them to develop a habit of reading, particularly focusing on understanding the teachings of the Holy Qur’an.
The Grand Mufti congratulated the author on the successful release of his works and extended his best wishes for his future literary pursuits.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from hundreds of attendees, including prominent figures such as Mufti Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din, Mufti Ghulam Yaseen, Sain Abdul Rashid, Dr. Shams Kamal Anjum (Dean Academics, Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University), Abdul Qayoom Dar (former Administrator Waqaf Board Rajouri), Dr. Bashir Ahmad Magray, Hafiz Abdul Qayoom, Maulana Abdul Khaliq, Abdul Latif Choudhary (former Executive Engineer), Maulana Noorani, and several other dignitaries.
The programme concluded on a note of appreciation for the author’s contribution to literature and a collective resolve to promote education, unity, and moral values across the region.
