DC Rajouri discusses Action Plan to enhance Ration distribution efficiency , Asks for re-verification of distances through roads, alternative means

    GNS ONLINE NEWS PORTAL

RAJOURI, JANUARY 04-– In a significant stride towards optimizing the Ration distribution network, the Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Vikas Kundal chaired a pivotal meeting today.

The objective of the meeting was to conduct the re-verification of distances, both by road and alternative means of transportation such as pony and headload, from food stores to the Fair Price Shops (FPS) and sale depots in the District Rajouri. The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the significance of accurate and up-to-date data to ensure the efficient functioning of the Department of Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) in the district.

Recognizing the varying nature of roads and transportation routes, the Deputy Commissioner issued directives to the different road agencies operating in the district to undertake the task of preparing and compiling ground-level data. To determine the actual distance between the government food stores and the Fair Price Shops, the road agencies have been instructed to deploy their field staff for on-site assessments. It is expected that this exercise will provide an accurate assessment of the revised distances, taking into account any changes that have occurred during the current year.

It is worth noting that the road network in the district has witnessed significant transformations and modifications over the past year. These changes necessitate a thorough reassessment of the distances between the government food stores and the Fair Price Shops. By undertaking this reverification exercise, the District Administration aims to ensure that the data available to the FCS&CA department is accurate, reliable, and reflective of ground reality.

This collaborative effort between the District Administration and the road agencies will undoubtedly contribute to the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the distribution system, ensuring that essential food supplies reach the Fair Price Shops in a timely manner.

This comprehensive exercise, undertaken by the road agencies, will ensure that the data available to the FCS&CA department accurately reflects the ground reality. The DC directed all stakeholders to actively cooperate in this endeavor, which will ultimately benefit the citizens of Rajouri by ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of the Fair Price Shop system.
