After the abrogation of article 370 and 35A on 5th August 2019. Former Governor J&K Satya Pal Malik announced 50,000 jobs for the youth of J&K to be filled up on fast track bases i,e with in 3 months. Now after 11 months JKSSB has advertised 8575 class 1V posts, with an disputed policy as administration has fixed a maximum eligibility 12th class, while leaving thousands of degree holders in lurch.
District Convenor Muzaffer Malik a Post Graduate scholar in English said that government should abolish the notification and issue a fresh notification to make all degree holders eligible in the recruitment process and there should be a clarification from the administration regarding the new eligibility criteria.
He future added that it is sheer violation of fundamental rights to equality in matter of employment. He urged government to reconsider and allow all the unemployed youth to take part in the recruitment process.
The aggrieved aspirants threatened for mass agitation, if the eligibility criteria would not be changed for these posts. The aspirants also stated that they would approach court for the same.
District Executive member Imran Farhat, another Post Graduate scholar said that in the past 6 years there was no major recruitment held in J&K which leads to higher unemployment rate in J&K. Soon after the abrogation of article 370 and 35A the educated youth were promised for 50,000 Jobs. The youth were waiting for the recruitment drive phase 1 i,e class IV jobs in various department in entire UT Jammu Kashmir with an illegal eligibility criteria which has debarred many degree holders from taking part in class IV recruitment. He urged government to change the discriminatory eligibility criteria which has become their degree useless.
He said when Modi Government assumed charge in 2014, talking about militancy and unemployment free Jammu and Kashmir, Modi Government words motivated us to feel that Modi Government would free our state from the remaining shackles of poverty, unemployment, underdevelopment, inequality and injustice which actually were comparatively less here and bring full peace and prosperity to the state.
Six years are completed after Modi Government won the second election in 2019. Today, we feel dejected and depressed by Modi Government words as there is hardly any end to militancy and unemployment in the erstwhile Union Territory. There are hardly any government jobs for years to adjust the thousands of educated youth. Modi Government slogan of one nation, one Criteria, peace, employment, and development has yet to show the promised results.
