IGP reviews security scenario in Rajouri district.

Rajouri September 04:–Recently a major plan of the terrorist outfits to revive the militancy was foiled by the Reasi police with the arrest of few over ground workers (OGWs).
Following this all the SSPs, especially of the districts having LoC and International border, in Jammu zone were directed to keep surveillance on the activities of anti-national elements (ANEs), surrendered militants,OGWs etc.
On September 2 & 3 Mukesh Singh-IPS, IGP Jammu visited Rajouri district & reviewed the security, law & order and crime scenario.
IGP held meetings with Vivek Gupta, IPS, DIG Rajouri Poonch Range; Chandan Kohli, IPS, SSP; Liyaqat Ali, ASP (HQ); Girdhari Lal Sharma, ASP (Nowshera) and other senior officers of the district Rajouri.
IGP stressed for continuous coordination and synergy among the forces for better deliverance at different levels.
“Accountability and public cooperation is important to get desired results of policing at different fronts” said IGP.
He appreciated the initiatives taken by the district police with other sister agencies to ensure the security of the people besides maintaining law and order.
IGP was apprised about the steps taken to control crime, check on militancy and radicalized elements.
IGP stressed on the strengthening of intelligence gathering mechanism & maintaining alertness on the LoC/ in the hinterland and advised strict vigil on the ‘Nakas’ to check the movement of the suspects.
IGP advised to keep watch on those who were earlier involved in militancy-related incidents and on the relatives (residing along LoC) of those who are presently working in other countries.
IGP also visited Kalakote, Dharamsal and Sunderbani police stations along with DIG, SSP and SDPO, Nowshera and sought feedback from the concerned SHOs and staff deputed.
“Respond to the public issues promptly and adopt a public-friendly approach to win the hearts and minds of the public” IGP advised the staff.
He also took stock of the construction work of modern Naka at Thalka (Nowshera) and issued necessary instructions to the officers’ concerned and executing agency.
