SHOPIAN SEPTEMBER 04:–With an aim to ensure financial empowerment of women through enrolment under various self employment schemes, the District Level Centre for Women — established under Mahila Shakti Kendra Scheme for empowerment of rural women — organised an awareness camp at Panchayat Halqa Zawoora A and Zawoora B.
In the camp, organised in collaboration with officials of ICDS Project Keller, District Coordinators Mehvish Yaqoob and Saima Khurshid apprised participants about various self employment schemes of the government and called upon them to avail benefits entailed under these schemes.
The participants were made aware about benefits and eligibility criteria under schemes like Seed Capital Fund Scheme, Youth Startup Loan Scheme, Himayat Employment Scheme, Term Loan Scheme, Micro Financing Loan Scheme, Women Entrepreneurship Program besides such schemes of departments of Handloom, Handicraft, KVIC, KVIB and Industries.
Pertinently, Central Government has established District Level Centre for Women under Mahila Shakti Kendra Scheme in each district which is mandated to identify problems faced by women while applying for various government schemes, spreading awareness about these schemes besides monitoring implementation of women related schemes.
