Surankote August 02:– The menace of drugs among the youth is spreading at an alarming rate which is among the greatest causes of concern. In order to free the society of such heinous societal crimes, a special drive have been launched by Poonch Police against the drug abuse.
Carrying forward the special drive, today on the directions of SSP Poonch Mr Ramesh Angral, A police party led by SHO Surankote Anil Sharma And incharge Police Post Behramgalla Mohd Rafiq, Maroof Ahmed under supervision of DYSP Surankote Khaliq Choudhary & under close supervision of Adll.SP Poonch Khalid Amin laid a naka at Behramgalla on Mughal Road conduct the checking of vehicle’s.
During checking an Tanker Bearing Registration Number KAO1AF / 6559 which was on its way from kashmir has been signalled to stop for checking.On seeing naka party the driver of the vehicle stopped the Tank
On thorough search of the vehicle, recovered Polythene bags filled with Poppy Straw(Bhukki) like substances weighing about 10 Kilograms from accused persons namely Mohd Altaf S/0 Mohd Afzal R/0 Dharsekri Rajouri and Tanker the new modous how to smuggle the contraband. The said vehicle has been seized.
In this regard Case FIR NO 108/2020 U/S 8/15 , NDPS act stands registered against the accused persons at Police Station Surankote & investigation has been geared up to asertain the source & other persons involved in smuggling of contraband.
Poonch Police will not leave any stone unturned to curb drug smuggling &u public in general is requested to co-operate & strengthen the hands of Poonch Police to weed out the social evils from the society.
