Mock Test Series Concludes at GDC Thannamandi

Rajouri July 22:–Department of Geography in collaboration with IQAC of Govt. Degree College Thannamandi conducted a series of mock test for graduate level competitive examination w. e. f. 2nd of July 2020 under the guidance of Principal of the College Prof. (Dr.) Javaid Ahmed Qazi. While giving the details of mock test series, Dr. Khalid Rayaz, Organizer and Head Department of Geography, Govt. Degree College Thannamandi informed that 1753 candidates participated in the tests out of which 429 candidates were awarded the E-certificate of appreciations. Prof. Saleem Ayaz Rather, Convener IQAC told that out of 1753 candidates who appeared in the test belonged to various Colleges and Universities of the country. 40 percent of the participants were from Jammu University, Kashmir University, Central University of Jammu, Central University of Kashmir, Cluster University of Jammu Cluster University Kashmir, besides various colleges of Kashmir province and Jammu province. The other 60 percent of the participants were from Haryana, Punjab, Bihar, Kerala, Orissa, Uttar Pradesh, and Himachal Pradesh and other parts of the country. The series of tests were conducted in the subjects of Geography, Political Science, History, Economics, Environmental Studies, Zoology, Education, Botany, English, Physics, Islamic Studies, Chemistry, Mathematics, Computer Application, Library Science, Arabic, Geography of India concluded today with the conduct of test for Current Affairs.
Speaking on the Occasion Prof. (Dr.) Javaid Ahmed Qazi, Principal of the College said that this was the unique initiative of the College to provide a healthy platform for the students preparing for various competitive examinations who are suffering due to lack of regular teaching and learning process in the pandemic era of COVID- 19. He appreciated the efforts of Dr. Khalid Rayaz and his team member Prof. Tahir Nadeem and Mr. Waqar Gorsi Librarian for conducting the mock test series in various subjects in a magnanimous way. Special thanks are due to the staff members for extending their support during the conduct of mock test series by virtue of which this event remained quite successful.
