Rajouri July 18:–District administration has played a vital role in containing the Covid pandemic by taking stringent measures amid ensuing rapid pace of active Covid cases.
Three cops had deliberately hid their travel history from red zone and later tested positive.
Between their RT-PCR testing and reports (on July 2) they met with several people and infected many others.
Negligence on part of the trio and others with travel history from red zones, the tally of pandemic cases on Friday raised to 344 out of that 235 are active, 97 have recovered.
Under the overall supervision of Mohd Nazir Sheikh , District Magistrate ( also District Disaster Management r Authority ) and Th. Sher Singh ,Additional DM, Bilal Mir, District Nodal Officer Covid-19, district administration swung into action to save many people from getting infected by this dreaded disease.
“Many areas in Rajouri town, in Sunderbani, Kalakot and Nowshera, Manjakot, Kotranka and Kalakot tehsils are under lockdown for random sampling/tracing of the contact of already positive” said DM.
128 samples were tested positive until July 2 out of which 55 were active, one died and 72 had recovered. 11684 Samples were collected out of which report for 1078 was awaited.
Till Friday 19975 samples have been collected out of which 344 were tested positive and the reports for 3579 were awaited.
“Aggressive contact tracing & testing is in progress. The process may get delayed as desired cooperation by the populace lacking. Relaxation in lockdown will only be after sampling and receipts of the reports” said Additional DM.
Frontline warriors including doctors, paramedics, health workers, police personnel, especially working in odd situations at GMC&AH and in Kandi health block under Dr.Iqbal Malik, BMO is also appreciable and needs felicitation.
