Who is Neha Bora? Student Leader and Research Scholar in the National Spotlight

RAJOURI JULY 28:-Neha Bora, a 29-year-old research scholar from Uttarakhand, has emerged as one of the prominent student leaders in India following her active participation in recent protests.

She completed her early education at Delhi Public School, Siliguri, earned a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of Delhi, and later completed her postgraduate studies at Ambedkar University Delhi. She is currently pursuing a PhD at the School of Arts and Aesthetics, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU).

Neha Bora is widely known as a social researcher, theatre activist, and student leader. Her involvement in theatre has strengthened her public speaking and communication skills. During her time at JNU, she became actively involved in student politics through the All India Students’ Association (AISA) and later rose to become its National President.

Over the years, she has campaigned on issues including the privatization of education, fee hikes, hostel facilities, scholarships, women’s safety, and the rights of Dalit, tribal, backward, and minority students. She has also spoken out against mob violence, demanded justice for Bilkis Bano, and expressed solidarity with the people affected by the conflict in Gaza. Neha Bora has consistently maintained that quality education is a fundamental right of every citizen and should not be restricted to the economically privileged.

Her recent participation in nationwide protests has further elevated her profile, bringing her into the national spotlight. Known for her simple yet impactful speeches and strong arguments on public issues, Neha Bora continues to attract widespread public attention as an influential student leader.
