Waqar H. Bhatti Holds National-Level Meeting with Former MPs, Leaders in New Delhi

NEW DELHI, SEPT, 18:-Waqar H. Bhatti, youth leader from Jammu & Kashmir and President of the Jammu Kashmir Awami Tehreek, held a national-level meeting with former Members of Parliament and prominent leaders of the country at Nizamuddin, New Delhi, on Friday.
In a press statement issued after the meeting, Bhatti said that detailed discussions were held on the denial of permission to hold peaceful and democratic protests at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi.
Bhatti said that the meeting also discussed the prevailing political and socio-economic situation in Jammu & Kashmir and the wider national context.
According to Bhatti, the participants deliberated on a future roadmap, strategic priorities and an action plan to address what they described as unconstitutional and undemocratic aspects of the present political setup in Jammu & Kashmir following its reorganisation as a Union Territory.
Bhatti said the meeting underscored the importance of democratic institutions, constitutional values, political dialogue and a peaceful, people-centric approach to addressing the challenges facing Jammu & Kashmir.
He further stated that a constructive roadmap for future engagement and democratic action was also discussed during the meeting.
Bhatti said the participants remained committed to pursuing their concerns through peaceful, democratic and constitutional means.
