Unified voice in favour of Establishment of GMC Poonch.surankote youth appealed for level playing field and equitable development of all regions.

Residents of Tehsil Surankote today expressed strong resentment in the establishment of two new GMC for Handwara and Udhampur and lebelled this move of central government as totally biased and step motherly treatment with the people of District Poonch. They Appealed to the Govt of India to consider their demand in the establishment/sanction a Govt. Medical college in Poonch,which has been derailed from the map of development and is one of the most backward district in term of health facilities.
Many Social Activists Sohail Malik, Ishtiyaq Banday, Asif Choudhary, Ajaz Bukhari, Rafeez Manhas, Altaf Choudhary, bringforth the Grim realities of District Poonch and demand establishment of the GMC for poonch. He stated that ignoring District Poonch which is facing the burnts of Indo-Pak conflict for 7decades and severe Geographical challenges, tough terrain and inaccessible topography from the list of Establishment of 2 New Medical colleges one at HANDAWARA which is 25km away from GMC BARAMULLA and other at UDHAMPUR which is 45 mints aways from GMC JAMMU is great Regional Imbalance, grave injustice, incompetency of leadership and a worst betrayal with District Poonch which is 260 km away from JAMMU.
We have been demanding a Medical college since long but successive regimes have always ignored and left us on mercy of Nature.
We request Hon’ble PM & his excellency Hon’ble Governor of State to sanction a Medical college for District Poonch also so that precious lives by ceasefire violations and natural calamities can be saved well in time.
He also stressed upon all the responsible citizens of District Poonch to raise your voice for our survival and also for our comming generations.
