RAJOURI SEPT 12:-SSP Traffic Rural Farooq Qaiser on Friday said that a two-week-long traffic awareness campaign, focusing primarily on two-wheelers, has been launched across the region and will continue till September 14.

Speaking in Rajouri, Qaiser said the campaign aims to educate motorists, particularly two-wheeler riders, about traffic rules, the consequences of violations and the importance of adopting safe driving practices to prevent road accidents.

He said awareness programmes are being organised at schools, colleges and other public places, alongside intensified enforcement measures against traffic violations.

The SSP Traffic Rural said the campaign is being conducted across Samba, Kathua, Rajouri and Poonch districts, with support from local stakeholders and the public.

He stressed that awareness and enforcement must go hand in hand to improve road safety and reduce the increasing risk of accidents, particularly involving two-wheelers.

The traffic authorities have appealed to the public, especially young riders, to strictly follow traffic rules, wear helmets and avoid dangerous driving practices.
