KISHTWAR FEBRUARY 22:- Security forces on Sunday neutralised three terrorists, including a top commander of the Pakistan-based outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM), during an encounter in the Chatroo area of Kishtwar district.
Official sources informed that the encounter broke out in the general area of Passerkut after security forces established contact with the hiding terrorists. The joint operation was carried out by the Indian Army’s White Knight Corps, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).
During the fierce exchange of fire, three terrorists were eliminated. One of the slain militants has been identified as Saifulla, who was described as a top JeM commander and had reportedly evaded security forces on multiple previous occasions.
Earlier, the White Knight Corps, through a post on social media platform X, stated that troops, along with J&K Police and CRPF, had established contact with terrorists in the area. The forces had cordoned off the region and launched a coordinated operation, which culminated in the successful neutralisation of the terrorists.
Security forces have intensified search operations in the surrounding areas to ensure complete sanitisation. Further details are awaited.
