State’s only Covid death reported from Rajouri district.

RAJOURI AUGUST 22 :–The only death due to Covid-19 pandemic reported in the State on Sunday has been reported from Rajouri district.
Twenty-three-year-old youth resident of Bainumbal in Kotranka tehsil, who was admitted in the Covid isolation ward in Government Medical College (GMC) hospital in Jammu on last Wednesday, died in the early morning hours on Sunday.
With the death of the youth the Covid-19 death tally in the district has reached 232, the second-highest among 10 districts of Jammu province after Jammu district with 1142 deaths.
The deceased had received the first jab of the vaccine in the month of June, as per his medical report.
Pertinent to mention, due to the shortage of vaccines, many centers in the district have been closed for the last few days.
Meanwhile, of 1508 reports received today 7 cases of the novel Coronavirus have been reported positive, including 6 symptomatic and the positivity rate in the district is 0.46 %.
Of the 232 Covid deaths includes 177 during the second wave of which 122 died in the GMC Rajouri and 110 in other places/hospitals.
At present, there are 58 active cases in the district of which21 are in home isolation, 7 in Panchayat CCCs & 30 in hospital isolation out of 30 admitted/isolated in the hospitals, 7 are GMC Rajouri, 14 in the army hospital & 8 in the hospitals out of the district and one in Triage (MCH).
The Enforcement officers urged the people to wear face masks and maintain physical distance besides taking Covid vaccination doses at their nearest CVC.
The vaccination in the district continues to be at a very slow rate and only 145 persons were vaccinated today in the age group of 18-44 years, including 104 who got the first jab.
Out of 11073 positive cases reported in the district during the 1st & 2nd waves, 10783 have recovered and 232 died.
