JAMMU, JUNE 13:- In a significant development, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has empanelled six senior IPS officers of the AGMUT cadre for appointment to the rank of Director General of Police (DGP).
The officers cleared for empanelment are Dr Shiv Darshan Singh Jamwal, Rajesh Kumar, Satish Shriramaji Khandare, Tsewang Namgyal Kalon, David Lalrinsanga and Rajesh Khandare.
Among them, Dr Shiv Darshan Singh Jamwal, Rajesh Kumar and Tsewang Namgyal Kalon belong to the erstwhile Jammu and Kashmir segment of the AGMUT cadre, marking a notable achievement for officers from the region.
Official sources said the empanelment makes these officers eligible for consideration for DGP-level appointments in various Union Territories and organisations under the AGMUT cadre. The decision follows approval by the competent authority and acknowledges their distinguished service records, leadership qualities and extensive experience in policing and administration.
The empanelment is being viewed as a significant milestone for the AGMUT cadre, particularly for officers from the J&K segment who have served in key assignments within Jammu and Kashmir as well as on Central deputation. The move is expected to strengthen the pool of senior leadership available for policing and administrative responsibilities across Union Territories and central organisations.
