SRINAGAR, APRIL 16:-The Shah-re-Khass Traders and Chambers has extended its full support to the one-day hunger strike announced by Amit Kapoor, President of the Parents Association Jammu, against alleged irregularities and malpractices in the education sector.
Chairman Bashir Ahmad Kanu made the announcement after a detailed telephonic conversation with Amit Kapoor, during which both leaders discussed rising concerns over what they described as an “education mafia” and systemic corruption affecting academic institutions.
Expressing serious concern, Bashir Ahmad Kanu highlighted issues such as lack of transparency and the alleged inefficiency of regulatory bodies like the Fee Fixation and Regulation Committee (FFRC) in controlling arbitrary fee hikes and exploitative practices by certain private schools.
He stated that the demand for a fair and transparent education system goes beyond regional boundaries and reflects the collective concern of traders and the general public. He emphasized that education is a fundamental right and should not be turned into a means of unchecked commercial exploitation.
Reaffirming solidarity, the Shah-re-Khass Traders and Chambers pledged full cooperation with the Parents Association Jammu in their efforts to ensure accountability and bring reforms within the education sector.
The hunger strike is expected to draw attention to the grievances of parents and students, calling for stricter regulation and greater transparency in educational institutions.
