Shabnum Jan Urges CM Omar Abdullah to Establish Drug De-Addiction Centers Across J&K

SRINAGAR APRIL 01:– Shabnum Jan, a dedicated member of the All India Mahila Congress, has appealed to Hon’ble Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to take immediate action against the escalating drug addiction crisis in Jammu and Kashmir. In a statement released today, Jan emphasized the urgent need for the establishment of Drug De-Addiction Centers in every Tehsil of the Union Territory through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.

Highlighting the alarming rise in substance abuse, particularly among the youth, Jan underscored the necessity of accessible and well-equipped rehabilitation facilities. “The absence of adequate de-addiction centers has left many young individuals without proper support for recovery. It is imperative that the government takes swift action to address this crisis,” she stated.
