Rajouri,Jan.29: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri on Tuesday ordered withholding the salaries of eight block development officers in the district for the poor performance of their blocks in various indicators under Mahatama Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act and PMAY(G).
District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Mohammad Aijaz Asad said that salaries of Block Development Officers of Plangar, Darhal, Khawas, Kalakote, Budhal, Panjgrian, Rajnagar and Qila Darhal blocks have been withheld.
It has been brought out that the FTOs generation of Plangarh block has been registered only 1.66%, 13.02% for Darhal, 21.53% for Khawas, 22.71% for Kalakote, 24.08% for Budhal, 25.48% for Panjgrian, 28.23% for Rajnagar and 29.04% for Qila Darhal blocks.
The poor performance of all these blocks has also been reported by AC Development Rajouri in terms of various indicators of MGNREGA and PMAY(G).
A spokesperson of district administration maintained that these Block Development officers were given umpteen opportunities for improving performance. However, many of the blocks geared up and improved performance but few blocks exhibited extremely poor outcomes compelling the administration to take disciplinary action.
