Rajouri , July 02:-The inhabitants of Sialsui Mohu area said they were not given any monetary assistance for constructing toilets under SBM.
The inhabitants of Sialsui villages in Kalakote block of Rajouri district several times accused the rural development department of denying them the compensation for constructing household toilets under Swach Bharat Mission (SBM).
The inhabitants of Sialsui of Mohu village said they were not given any monetary assistance for constructing toilets under SBM.
“For last two years, we are awaiting compensation which we are entitled to under the scheme,” they said.
Under the SBM, the household toilets were to be constructed in several rural areas of Rajouri District. The house owners had been asked to construct the toilets on their own, and later they would be given Rs 12,000 each under the scheme.
But the inhabitants alleged they did not receive a single penny.
“We come from underprivileged Gujjar community and whatever we could afford that time we did to construct these toilets. We have apprised the authorities concerned several times but to no avail,” said Mohd Akbar.
They appealed to the Mohd Aijaz Asad Deputy Commissioner Rajouri to personally look into the matter.
