Rapid sampling begins in 1-12 wards,55 tested positive on first day. in Rajouri

Rajouri September 27:–In light of huge surge in Covid-19 cases from various wards of Rajouri MC because of alleged violation of SOPs/guidelines by the people/ traders, the administration on Friday had declared 1-12 wards as containment /red zones.
“To break the chain & containing the Corona pandemic,100% sampling was necessary.To achieve the target these wards were declared containment/red zones” said Mohd Nazir Sheikh, DDC.
Multiple teams from other health blocks have been deployed in the red zones of Rajouri town to collect door to door samples from Saturday. The main purpose of the teams is to complete the samplings within the shortest time so that the people may not face the hardships” said Th.Sher Singh, Additional DC.
He added amid samplings for Covid-19, the data about aged & of those having ailments will also be collected.
During the first day of 100% sampling on Saturday1915 Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) were conducted in these wards out of which about 55 persons were tested positive and were isolated.
The Administration has appealed to President, Vice President, Councilors of Municipal Council, religious, social leaders/ representatives to come forward and make the public aware and support the cause/mission of 100% sampling.
It may take 3-4 days for 100% intensive and extensive sampling in different wards of Rajouri town, said a senior officer.
“District administration has applauded the committed working in conducting sampling in the town by the teams of health employees from Kandi health block” said Dr Iqbal Malik , BMO.
During last one week about 215 persons; including senior civil/ police officers, doctors and health workers, have been tested Covid-19 positive from various wards of Rajouri town.
After March, when the first Covid-19 positive case was detected , 2689 persons have been tested positive in the district out of which 29 died, 1523 recovered and 11 37 are still active cases and are under isolation at various places including home isolation (about 945).
