Rajouri,May 28:–Tightening it’s noose against people involved in illegal manufacturing and sale of desi liquor, police here in Rajouri district seized 27 litres of liquor, destroyed 400 litres of Lahaan arresting the accused in Sunderbani, Nowshera and Teryath areas.
Police said that team of police headed by SHO Sunderbani, SD Singh was on routine patrolling in Hathal village when two person identified as Vikas Sharma son of Ramesh Lal and Puran Chand son of Mulkh Raj resident of Hathal were intercepted at different locations.
Accused Vikas Sharma was found having three litres of liquor and accused Puran Chand was found having four litres of locally manufactured liquor which they were selling among the villagers.
Both the accused have been arrested and cases in FIRs 44/2021 and 45/2021 under section 48a Excise Act have been registered.
Police further said that another police team headed by SHO Nowshera Pankaj Sharma while on routine patrolling duty in Nonial village when a local man was seen present in an area in suspicious circumstances after which police team zeroed in and person namely Tajinder Singh son of Jasbir Singh resident of Nonial Rajouri was found running a working still and was manufacturing desi liquor.
During searches, ten litres of desi liquor was found and seized on the spot alongwith utensils of working still while 400 litres of Lahaan was destroyed on the spot.
Police team arrested the accused on spot and a case in FIR FIR no.103/2021 U/S 48- a,b,e,f Excise act.
In another success on this front, police team from Teryath police post headed by SI Riaz ul Haq established a routine mobile check point in Teryath market when a vehicle Winger bearing registration number JK02AG 7810 on way From Moghla towards Pouni Reasi was intercepted and put to routine frisking.

10 litres of locally manufactured liquor was found in the vehicle which accused namely
driver Chambail Singh son of Makhan Singh resident of Taran Reasi and Karnail Singh son of Inder Singh resident of Dhakikote Reasi were trying to smuggle.
Both the accused have been arrested and case under relevant sections of law have been registered in Dharamsal police station.
