RAJOURI APRIL 13:-In a continued crackdown against drug trafficking, Rajouri Police have achieved a significant success by apprehending three alleged drug peddlers and recovering a heroin-like narcotic substance along with a sharp-edged weapon.
According to official sources, a police team from Police Station Rajouri, during routine patrolling in the Gujjar Mandi Bhella area, intercepted a vehicle (Eeco) bearing registration number JK11G-3348. Upon checking, three individuals, including the driver, were found onboard.
During preliminary questioning, the accused identified themselves as:
Shahraz Ahmed Malik, son of Zaffar Iqbal, resident of Sagrawar, Darhal (Rajouri) Razaq Ahmed, son of Nazir Hussain, resident of Ward No. 02, Rajouri Ashiq Hussain, son of Mohd Amin, resident of Dodasan Balla, Thannamandi (Rajouri)
A thorough search of the vehicle and the occupants led to the recovery of approximately 4.47 grams of a heroin-like narcotic substance, along with a sharp-edged weapon (toka) from their possession.
All three accused were immediately arrested, and the recovered contraband and weapon were seized following due legal procedures.
In this connection, FIR No. 170/2026 has been registered at Police Station Rajouri under relevant sections of the NDPS Act and Section 4/25 of the Arms Act. Further investigation is underway to ascertain forward and backward linkages in the case.
Police officials reiterated their commitment to intensifying efforts against drug trafficking and ensuring the safety and well-being of the public.
