Rajouri DDC Chairman asks officers to ensure quick response to people’s issues.

RAJOURI DECEMBER 08:— On Wednesday weekly Block Diwas (public outreach camp) was held at Peeri, in Kotranka sub-district in Rajouri district, which was presided over DDC Chairman Naseem Liayqat and was joined by DC Rajouri, Rajesh K Shavan; BDC Chairperson Budhal Old-A, Javed Iqbal Chowdhury; ADC Koteranka, Surinder Mohan Sharma; ACD, Sushil Khajuria; CPO, Mohammad Khurshid; GM DIC, Manzoor Hussain; SE Hydraulics, JP Singh; CEO RDA, Vivek Puri; CAO, Som Singh; ARTO, Shami.
Panchayat representatives, prominent citizens, retired government employees, and common masses of Peeri and adjoining areas put forward several demands.
Issues related to adequate water supply, macadamization and renovation of roads, up-gradation of schools, better health services and related were projected during the program.
Many issues were resolved on the spot with the intervention of the concerned departments.
Specific issues and demands projected on the occasion included blacktopping of Mandir Galla to Rajouri road, construction of road from Darhal to Prori, shortage of electricity poles, sanctioning of GDC for Peeri, the inclusion of eligible beneficiaries under PMAY-R, construction of road from Ratta Jabbar to Prori, construction of a sports stadium at Peeri, repair and renovation of Panchayat Ghar Dhar and block status for Peeri.
Opening of Panchayat Ghar at Prori completion of water supply scheme at Kharad, sanctioning of a health sub-center at Kharad were other issues raised.
Grievances projected in the camp include unscheduled power cuts, worn-out water pipes, exaggerated electricity bills; lack of road connectivity to Kathuni Dhar, delayed loan disbursement, paucity of staff at HSS Peeri, dilapidated condition of roads from Kotedhera to Tarkassi & from Peeri to Kotedhera, delayed payment of installments under PMAY-G.
People were aware of various welfare schemes & Officer on Special Duty Mission Youth, Dr Abdul Khabir threw a detailed light on these schemes.
Rajesh Kumar Shavan, DC gave a detailed resume of developmental projects completed and initiated in the district under PDD, PWD, Health, Education, RDD, Jal Shakti, employment and Labour etc. He said that the District Administration is committed to providing all basic amenities to the public and ensure that the benefits reach the last man in the queue.
The DC also advised the ST/SC and OBC population to avail of loan benefits being provided by the Banks under different schemes and under Forest Right Act 846 cases have been settled to date and 3959 families have been benefited.
“District Development Council and the District Administration are making persistent efforts to provide quality services to the common masses at their doorsteps. The concerned officers must gear up their field machinery to ensure that the difficulties of the people are addressed and resolved at the earliest” said Naseem Liayqat, DDC Chairman.
He also assured the public that all their grievances have been documented and all their genuine concerns would be redressed in a phased manner with the intervention of the concerned departments
