BUDHAL MAY 12:-Residents of Chaprola, Phagoli, Seari and Kewal on Tuesday held a public meeting under the chairmanship of Mohd Farooq Inqlabi and voiced strong resentment over the prolonged delay in completion of the Trun–Phagoli road project.
During the meeting, locals said that the road project, originally launched in 2004 under the title Phalni to Narloo Road, had its earthwork completed up to Phagoli years ago. However, despite the passage of more than two decades, the project still remains incomplete, leaving residents to suffer due to poor road connectivity.
Speakers at the gathering expressed serious concern over what they termed as continued neglect of the area by the authorities. They stated that repeated appeals and representations to the concerned departments have failed to bring any tangible progress.
The residents said the lack of a proper road network has severely affected transportation, education, healthcare services and overall development of the region, forcing people to face immense difficulties on a daily basis.
Addressing the gathering, Mohd Farooq Inqlabi said the people had shown patience for years but their genuine demands continued to be ignored. He asserted that road connectivity is a basic necessity and urged the government to immediately begin work for completion of the project.
In a unanimous decision, the residents announced a “Rajouri Chalo” march on May 14 from Trun to the Deputy Commissioner’s Office in Rajouri to press for early completion of the road.
The participants warned that if the government fails to take immediate action, the agitation would be intensified in the coming days.
