Poonch man shot dead by nephews over land dispute

:-In a bizarre incident, two persons killed their uncle and injured his two sons over a land dispute in a village in Poonch district.
The dead has been identified as Mohommad Lateef Khan (60), a resident of Kehno village in Poonch.

The injured have been identified as Yasir Khan and Zamoorat Khan. They are undergoing treatment.
Station House Officer, Mandi police station, Tilak Raj said the dispute occurred between the families of Mohammad Lateef Khan and his brother Mohammad Azeem Khan over a piece of land.
About 7.30 am, Lateef Khan and his family members were harvesting wheat from the disputed land. When the other party objected, it led to a scuffle.In the meantime, Mohammad Akram and his brother Azad Khan, sons of Azeem Khan, brought two 12-bore guns and fired on their uncle and two cousins.
“My father died on the spot and my brother got injured in the firing. I had a narrow escape as I held the barrel of the gun during the scuffle, but the splinters hit my head,” said Yasir.
“The police have seized the guns used in the crime. However, Akram managed to flee,” said sources.
The police have arrested Akram, Azeem and Zahida Khanam, Akram’s wife.
After the medico-legal formalities, the body was handed over to the family for last rites.
