Pir Panjal Contractors Association Rajouri Condemns Alleged Remarks Against Journalists

RAJOURI, MAY 22:-The Pir Panjal Contractors Association Rajouri has strongly condemned the alleged remarks made by the Executive Engineer, PWD (R&B) Division Thanamandi against the journalist fraternity of Rajouri.

President of the association, Shafqat Wani, said that if the officer possesses any evidence against any individual journalist, the allegations should be levelled only against the concerned person and not against the entire media fraternity.

He stated that making generalized remarks against journalists without proof is highly inappropriate and unacceptable. He further urged the officer to come forward and issue a public apology for the alleged remarks, failing which, the matter may be pursued through appropriate legal and democratic means.

The association also expressed solidarity with the media fraternity and emphasized that journalists play a vital role in a democratic society by highlighting public issues and ensuring accountability.

Members of the media fraternity urged the authorities to ensure that government officials maintain respect for democratic institutions and refrain from making defamatory and sweeping statements against the press without substantiated evidence.
