Pharmaceuticals and Drugs Association Jammu sends consignment of Sodium Hypochlorite to Rajouri

Rajouri,May,10:The Chairman Pharmaceuticals and Drugs Association Jammu,Rakesh Gupta on Monday sent a consignment of Sodium Hypochlorite solution to Rajouri through the president Chemist Drugs Association Rajouri,Iftkar Ali.

The consignment was handed over to the Additional Deputy Commissioner Rajouri,Sher Singh,while DSEO Rajouri,Bilal Mir and members of Drugs and chemist Association Rajouri were also present on the ocassion.

Sodium hypochlorite is the oldest and still most important chlorine-based bleach.It is most often encountered as a pale greenish-yellow dilute solution commonly known as liquid bleach or simply bleach,a household chemical widely used as a disinfectant or a bleaching agent.

The spray of Sodium hypochlorite releases chlorine which has been found to be very effective to boost the fight against the CoronaVirus pandemic.Chlorine kills all viruses in the air and sodium ions make solid surfaces acidic for a long duration thereby preventing growth of virus.It is used for disinfecting the contaminated surfaces and reduces the risk of CoronaVirus infection and slows the spread of COVID19.

While speaking on the occasion,the Additional Deputy Commissioner Rajouri expressed his gratitude to the Pharmaceuticals and Drugs Association Jammu for providing the consignment of Sodium Hypochlorite to the district administration amid COVID19.He said that the chemical shall be sprayed at the Quarantine centres and official buildings to disinfect them to contain the spread of CoronaVirus infection in the district.
