Jammu, April 27: -‘Hinduist leader Raju Chandel told reporters that all the historic temples of Jammu and Kashmir should have the appointment of priests having knowledge of Vedic mantras and scriptures, to maintain the religious sanctity of Jammu Kashmir temples.
Addressing a press conference Chandel said that it has observed that some Temple head lost moral conduct and even not know the way of worship. It has become necessary that people with hypocritical and professional conduct be kept away from religious historical temples.
He added that Jammu and Kashmir Governor Manoj Sinha should establish a shrine Board for historic temples of Jammu and Kashmir.
He said that Pandit priests of Jammu and Kashmir to be paid on the lines of Shrine boards.
Most of the temples in Jammu and Kashmir are getting commercialized and pandit priests are being exploited.
He said that our historical temples can be saved only if the temples are taken under the government, the focal point of the tourist places here.
IAS and IPS examinations are done in the same way, similar examinations should be taken by UT administration and they are given certificates only then the priests are appointed and their salary should be decided by the government.
They said that the right to take such examinations is Niranjani Akhada. Councils should also be given and their certificates should be recognized in the states of the entire country.
