MENDHAR MARCH 03:-A complete and peaceful bandh was observed across Mendhar town today as residents shut down markets and business establishments for a day to mourn the killing of the Supreme Leader of Iran. The protest call witnessed significant participation from members of the local community, religious scholars, traders, and youth groups, reflecting a collective expression of grief and solidarity.

From the early morning hours, shops, commercial establishments, and transport services remained closed in response to the bandh call. The usually busy markets of Mendhar presented a quiet scene, with people assembling at designated places to register their sentiments in a calm and disciplined manner. The atmosphere throughout the town remained peaceful and orderly, as protesters gathered to express what they described as a matter of faith, principle, and moral responsibility.

The local administration played a proactive and constructive role in maintaining law and order during the bandh. Senior officers, including the SDM Mendhar, SDPO Mendhar, and SHO Mendhar, were present on the ground, closely monitoring developments and coordinating with community representatives to ensure that the protest proceeded without disruption. Their visible presence and timely arrangements were widely appreciated by residents, who acknowledged the administration’s efforts in ensuring that the situation remained under control and free of any untoward incidents.

During the gathering, several speakers addressed the participants, emphasizing that the protest was neither politically motivated nor driven by fear, but rooted in deeply held religious and moral convictions. One of the protesters, while addressing the gathering, said that they had stepped out of their homes not for personal gain or out of compulsion, but for a principle and a message. He stated that as fasting believers, they had come onto the streets with a clear purpose. Quoting the Holy Qur’an, he reminded the gathering that every soul shall taste death and questioned why one should fear speaking the truth when death itself is an undeniable reality. He asserted that they were not among those frightened by power or oppression, but followers of the path of truth and justice who stand firm against falsehood.

The speaker further said that when it comes to religion, faith, and the honor and sanctity of the beloved Prophet (peace be upon him), a true believer stands ready to face any sacrifice. For a Muslim, he said, faith is the most precious treasure, and when Islam is attacked, a believer does not measure the cost in terms of wealth, land, or family, but remains prepared to protect his faith above all else. He also remarked that powers claiming to establish peace while spreading injustice should remember that oppression is temporary and that the future ultimately belongs to those who stand for truth.

Referring to the sacrifice of Imam Hussain at Karbala, he said that the lesson taught was one of unwavering steadfastness — that a head may be severed, but it will never bow before falsehood. He emphasized that the message of Karbala continues to inspire believers to safeguard their faith, their prostration, and their dignity, regardless of circumstances. Concluding his address, he stated that while they stand firmly for peace, they would never compromise on their dignity and faith, and prayed that Allah keeps everyone steadfast upon the truth.

Throughout the day, organizers repeatedly appealed to participants to maintain discipline, respect public property, and uphold the peaceful nature of the protest. No incidents of violence or disturbance were reported from any part of the town. By late evening, normalcy gradually began to return as people dispersed peacefully under the supervision of the administration.

Authorities confirmed that the situation remained fully under control and appreciated the cooperation extended by the public. The bandh concluded with collective prayers for peace, justice, and stability, marking the day as one of solemn observance carried out in a calm and dignified manner.
