POONCH FEBRUARY 25:-Acting on specific and credible intelligence inputs, the Indian Army’s Romeo Force, in coordination with Jammu and Kashmir Police, launched a joint search and cordon operation under Operation Trashi–I in the Ghani forest area of the Krishna Ghati Sector.
During the course of the operation, security forces recovered a significant cache of arms and explosives concealed beneath a natural cave structure in dense forest terrain. The recovered items included a pistol with magazine, AK-47 rounds, Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), and Chinese-origin hand grenades. All items were found to be functional and ready for operational use.
The concealment of such a cache in a remote and rugged area reflects a pre-planned attempt by anti-national elements to destabilize the region and disrupt peace in the Krishna Ghati Sector and adjoining areas. The timely detection and recovery of these arms and explosives successfully prevented a potential security threat.
The operation was conducted with professionalism, coordination, and operational precision, highlighting the continued synergy between the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police in maintaining security along sensitive border areas. Following the recovery, the area was thoroughly sanitized, and further search operations are ongoing to ensure complete clearance of the vicinity.
All seized materials have been secured for further investigation and forensic examination. Efforts are underway to identify and take appropriate legal action against individuals involved in the concealment and intended use of the recovered arms and explosives.
Security forces remain steadfast in their commitment to ensuring peace, stability, and public safety in the Krishna Ghati Sector. Citizens are urged to remain vigilant and cooperate with security agencies by reporting any suspicious movements or activities.
