No vaccination held in Rajouri district on Wednesday.

Owing to the frequent shortage of Covidshield vaccines no dose was given today to the beneficiaries at any site in all the six health blocks across the Rajouri district on Wednesday.
The district is facing a shortage of vaccines reportedly since the vaccination for the 18-44 age group begins in the district.
Last week also vaccination remained suspended for 3-4 days and was resumed on Sunday after 5000 doses were sent to the district by the higher authorities from Jammu.
On Tuesday the vaccination once again was suspended as no supply was made by the higher authorities on Sunday & Monday.
As the district facing a shortage of vaccine frequently, health authorities here at Rajouri demanded 30000 doses of the vaccine so that the vaccination process can run smoothly in all the 6 health blocks in the district. But only 5000 doses were sent on Saturday,” said a senior health officer. On Wednesday no vaccination was held at any site across the district. At most of the vaccination sites, beneficiaries were disappointed to see the centers locked as they were not aware of the non-availability of the vaccine.
“The matter is in the notice of higher authorities and a good number of doses are on the way to Rajouri and all the Block Medical Officers have been asked to collect the vaccine on Thursday morning to resume the vaccination process,” said Dr. Shamim Un Nisa, Chief Medical Officer (CMO).
Meanwhile, with the death of 62 years old woman in the isolation ward of Rajouri GMC, the death tally in the district rises to 223 while out of 1887 reports received today, two positive cases were detected.
There are still 37 containment zones in the district, while out of 10814 positive cases in the district (including 1st & 2nd waves) 10520 have recovered, 71 are still active and 26 are under treatment in various hospitals in and outside the district. Out of 26 symptomatic cases, 6 are under treatment in GMC Rajouri, 13 in the Army hospital, and 7 are outside the district.
Continuing the enforcement drive to implement Covid protocol across the district Rajouri, the Enforcement teams today fined scores of violators of Covid-19 SOPs and have realised a fine worth Rs 1,18,607.
