Mega Anti-Drug Awareness Program Held at GHSS Manjakote; Waqar H. Bhatti Urges Expansion of Drug-Free Campaign

RAJOURI MAY 20:-In a significant initiative aimed at promoting a healthy and drug-free society, the organization Awami-E-Tehreek organized a mega anti-drug awareness program at Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Manjakote under the leadership of its President, Waqar H. Bhatti. The event witnessed active participation from students, teachers, administrative officers, and local residents.
The proceedings of the awareness program were conducted by Roohi Bhatti, who hosted the event. Several prominent officials attended as Guests of Honor, including Imsha Khalid, Tehsildar Manjakote; Jawad Parihar, Naib Tehsildar Manjakote; Dr. Saleem Ahmed Bhatti, BMO Manjakote; and officials from Police Station Manjakote.
Addressing the gathering, Tehsildar Imsha Khalid, BMO Dr. Saleem Ahmed Bhatti, and Awami-E-Tehreek President Waqar H. Bhatti highlighted the alarming effects of drug abuse on society and stressed the collective responsibility of protecting youth from the menace of drugs and alcoholism.
Speaking on the occasion, Waqar H. Bhatti welcomed the government’s ongoing 100-day drug-free Jammu and Kashmir campaign and appealed to Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to expand the campaign to every village and educational institution across the Union Territory.
He said that Awami-E-Tehreek has been continuously visiting villages and schools to spread awareness among youth so they remain away from drugs, alcohol, and other social evils. Bhatti emphasized that the younger generation should be encouraged towards education and sports, adding that the administration must develop sports infrastructure and stadiums in rural areas to channelize youth energy in a positive direction.
The school management and local officials appreciated the efforts of Awami-E-Tehreek and Waqar H. Bhatti for organizing the impactful awareness program at GHSS Manjakote. The event concluded with a collective pledge by participants to reject drugs and work towards building a healthier society.
