Many Govt offices found closed, several employees absent during surprise

RAJOURI AUGUST 24:–Rajesh Kumar Shavan, DDC Rajouri after reports of low attendance of employees in the government offices as well as late reporting to their respective offices, thus causing inconvenience to the general public for their timely disposal of genuine grievances, on Monday had constituted district level, sub-district level & Tehsil level teams of the senior officers to enforce punctuality & to end absenteeism in the government offices.
Inspection teams constituted by Rajesh Kumar Shavan, DDC Rajouri on Tuesday conducted surprise inspections in about a hundred government offices across the district and found 11 offices closed and a number of officers/officials and senior officials were found playing truant from their official engagements, duties.
After Tuesday’s surprise inspections Rajesh Kumar Shavan in an order issued has asked the Head of the Offices’, Drawing &Disbursing Officers (DDOs) of the absentee staff (of the offices found locked) to explain their positions within 15 days.
“The absentee employees shall also explain their position. The DDO’s concerned shall not draw the salary of the delinquent officials for the month of August” the order reads.
The inspection teams were headed by Sachin Dev Singh, Additional DC (ADC), Rajouri (district level), ADC/ SDM of concerned sub-district/sub-division (sub-district/division level) & Tehsildars for Tehsil level.
About 100 offices across the district were inspected on Tuesday and as per reports about 11 offices were found locked in Qila Darhal (3),Thanamandi (1), Kalakot (1), Teryath (1), Beri Pattan (2), Khawas(1), and Kotranka (2) tehsils.
All the employees in the office of the Zonal Education Office (ZEO) Kotranka were absent from duties.
The inspections were conducted with the objective of ensuring punctuality in offices and effective public service delivery mechanism across all departments.
Senior officers/officials among the absentees include Nitu Gupta, EO, MC Sunderbani; Varun Sharma, ASM, Sheep Husbandry; Kuldeep Dutta Senior Assistant, office XEN PWD; Raja Choudhry, AEE, Office of AEE Mechanical Sub-Div ; Kabir Hussain, TSWO, Mohd Sadiq, Sr, Assistant both of Tehsil Social Welfare Office) all of Nowshera Sub-District.
