Lt Governor visited GMC Rajouri, took stock of Covid situation.

‘During his brief stay at Rajouri, Lt Governor Manoj Sinha, visited Government Medical College &Associated Hospital (District Hospital) and reviewed the Covid situation and vaccination achievement in the district.


Lt Governor visited the wards and met with the negative turned Covid patients and their attendants and enquired about the facilities, treatment etc.He also inquired about the availability, requirement of medical oxygen and the number of oxygen plants.


According to reports LT Governor also applauded the working of health staff that without caring for their lives providing succor to the Covid patients.
Lt Governor also inquired about the Covid Care Centers and asked the officials to strengthen the human resources, facilities, infrastructure, etc at GMC&AH and prepare for the future challenges (for possible third wave).


“I appreciate doctors, nurses for their tireless efforts. People will always remember how our health care workers made them feel in the crises and how they worked selflessly to save the lives” said Lt Governor in a Tweet.


The main demand raised by the hospital management was the provision of more trained staff in the GMC&AH including doctors, specialists, and consultants.


Reliable sources said many doctors appointed by the government under PSC either have not joined or preferred to go on leave.Recently Principal GMC has advertised posts of Professors, Associate Professors, and Assistant Professors on Academic arrangements, keeping in view the surge in the Covid pandemic.


With 169 deaths, 2536 active cases, district Rajouri is at second position among 10 districts of Jammu province after Jammu district.
