RAJOURI, APRIL 17: Reinforcing the importance of border regions in India’s growth narrative, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday visited Sariah village in Rajouri district and inaugurated a series of development initiatives under the Vibrant Villages Programme.

Addressing a large public gathering, the Lieutenant Governor underscored that the strength and identity of a nation are reflected in its remotest habitations, particularly those along the borders. He highlighted the government’s renewed focus on transforming these regions into hubs of opportunity and growth.

During the visit, several projects were launched, including water conservation works, development of playgrounds in nearby villages, and the inauguration of a Common Service Centre aimed at boosting digital access for local residents. The initiatives are part of a broader effort to enhance infrastructure and deliver welfare schemes effectively in border areas.

Highlighting the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Lieutenant Governor said that border villages are now being seen not as the last outposts, but as the first points of national progress. He noted that improved connectivity, electrification, and employment opportunities are playing a key role in integrating these regions with the mainstream.

He also stressed the critical role of border residents in strengthening national security, describing them as silent contributors who stand shoulder to shoulder with armed forces. According to him, development in these areas directly enhances both community confidence and the country’s defensive strength.

The Lieutenant Governor reiterated the administration’s commitment to ensuring that every eligible citizen benefits from flagship schemes such as rural housing, youth employment initiatives, and financial assistance programmes. He called upon officials to achieve full saturation of all welfare schemes to ensure inclusive growth.

On the occasion, beneficiaries received sanction letters and appointment orders under various government schemes. The Lieutenant Governor also interacted with locals, inspected departmental stalls, and recognized individuals for their contributions to social causes, including health awareness and anti-drug campaigns.

Senior civil, police, and army officials, along with public representatives and a large number of local residents, attended the event, marking a significant step toward accelerated development in Rajouri’s border belt.
