RAJOURI, MAY 13:- Krishi Vigyan Kendra Rajouri organised a farmers’ awareness camp at Seari Kewal in Budhal block of Rajouri district with the aim of educating farmers about scientific farming practices and the safe use of pesticides in agriculture.
During the programme, Dr. Suraj Parkash and Dr. Vikas Gupta interacted with the farming community and provided detailed awareness regarding the judicious and scientific use of pesticides, insecticides and fertilizers for better crop production and protection. They highlighted the harmful effects of excessive and unscientific use of chemicals and advised farmers to adopt recommended doses and safety measures while spraying pesticides.
The experts also stressed the importance of integrated pest management, soil health conservation and modern agricultural techniques to enhance productivity and reduce losses in crops. Farmers were encouraged to use protective equipment during pesticide application and to avoid indiscriminate use of chemicals in fields.
Various female farmers also actively attended the awareness camp and participated in the interaction session. The experts appreciated the growing involvement of women in agricultural activities and encouraged them to adopt modern and sustainable farming practices for improving household income and farm productivity.
Former Sarpanch of Gram Panchayat Kewal Lower Mohammad Farooq Inqlabi and social activist Mohammed Tufail Choudhary were also present during the camp and appreciated the initiative of KVK Rajouri for spreading awareness among farmers at the village level.
A large number of farmers from Seari Kewal and adjoining areas participated in the awareness camp and appreciated the efforts of KVK Rajouri for organising such informative programmes at the grassroots level.
