JKAP 6th Battalion Hosts Volleyball Championship in Mendhar, Mendhar Club Lifts Title

MENDHAR FEBRUARY 17:-In a proactive effort to promote sports culture and guide youth towards constructive activities, the Jammu and Kashmir Armed Police 6th Battalion organized a Volleyball Championship under the Civic Action Programme 2025–26 at Mendhar.
The tournament saw spirited participation from 10 teams representing three blocks of the Mendhar subdivision. Young players displayed remarkable talent, discipline, and teamwork, turning the championship into a celebration of sportsmanship and unity.
The final match between Mendhar Club and Shaheed Amjid Club kept spectators on the edge of their seats. After a closely fought contest, Mendhar Club secured the championship title, earning applause from the enthusiastic crowd present at the venue.
The closing ceremony was graced by Arbaz Khan, a promising national-level volleyball player from the region. Congratulating the finalists, he appreciated the initiative of the police department in creating opportunities for young athletes. He underlined that sports not only enhance physical fitness but also instill discipline, confidence, and a sense of responsibility among youth.
Officials of the battalion stated that the championship was organized with the dual objective of nurturing local talent and spreading awareness against drug abuse. They reaffirmed that besides maintaining law and order, the police are committed to community outreach and youth empowerment through constructive programmes.
Local citizens and community leaders lauded the efforts of JKAP 6th Battalion, noting that such events strengthen police-public relations and provide a healthy platform for young people to channel their energy positively.
The event concluded with the distribution of trophies, certificates, and individual awards, marking the successful culmination of a tournament that highlighted both sporting excellence and social responsibility.
