Calls for UT Government Intervention to Address Delay in DA Instalment
RAJOURI DEC 25:-Aaftab Tantray, District President of the Jammu Kashmir Rehbar-e-Taleem Teachers Forum, has urged the Union Territory (UT) government to release the pending 3% Dearness Allowance (DA) instalment for its employees. The DA hike, effective from July 2024, has already been implemented for central government employees since November 13, 2024.
Tantray expressed disappointment over the delay, highlighting that this marks the first instance of such postponement since August 2019. He emphasized the urgency of the matter, calling upon the Honourable Chief Minister to intervene promptly.
“The delay is causing distress among employees. Such matters, if not resolved, might compel employees to take to the streets for what is their rightful entitlement,” Tantray stated.
The appeal underscores the need for swift action to prevent any disruption to governance and ensure fair treatment for employees. The release of the DA instalment, Tantray argued, is a basic right that should not be delayed.
The employees of Jammu and Kashmir await a response from the UT government, hoping for immediate redressal of their concerns.
