Flag hoisted mismatched with colours of National Flag, 2 teachers suspended

Rajouri August 19:–Two government school teachers in Rajouri district have been placed under suspension and the explanation was sought for unfurling flag (on August 15) mismatching with the colours of the National Flag and for hoisting in the premises of the old school building which was abandoned in 2017 after the roof was blown off with high winds.
The matter was reported from government primary school at Ghai Bass village under Khawas Education Zone in Kotranka sub-district and the teachers placed under suspension includes Nazir Hussain (grade-II) and Salam Din (grade-III).
Ch. Gulazar Hussain, Chief Education Officer (CEO) in the order said: “Reports have been received regarding violation of Flag Code by Nazir Hussain teacher, government primary school Ghai Bass by hoisting the National Flag (colour scheme mismatching). Both the teachers of the said school are liable to be punished strictly for such an offense at their part”.
“National Flag has to be hoisted in the school where it was shifted since March 2017. ZEO Khawas is directed to seek the replay of the charge-sheet from both the teachers and submit the same along with personal comments within three days,failing which it would be presumed that they have nothing to say in their defense and disciplinary proceedings under Rules as warranted shall be initiated against them ” the order reads.
CEO has also constituted an inquiry team consisting principals of higher secondary schools at Narla and Udhan respectively,, and directed to submit their report within three days to proceed further in this matter.

Pertinent to mention that as the roof of the school was blown off with the high winds in 2017 the school, having a strength of 50 students, was shifted to a nearby rented building and the original building presently is not more than ruins.
“In 2020 a detailed project report was sent to higher authorities by the CEO Rajouri for the reconstruction of the school building, but the authorities seem to be in deep slumber since then” said sources.
Reportedly to express their resentment and to awake the authorities the villagers and the teachers deliberately hoisted the flag in the old school building but forget to hoist the National Flag that cost them suspension, sources added.
