Fire Broke out in a Shoe and Slipper Shop Near Jhula Bridge Rajouri; Estimated Loss in Lakhs

RAJOURI MAY 12:-A massive fire broke out at a shoe and slipper shop near Jhula Bridge late Wednesday night, causing extensive damage and an estimated loss of over Rs 10 lakh.

The shop, owned by Ravi Kumar Sharma and operating from a rented space, was reportedly closed for the day when the incident occurred. According to sources, flames were first noticed around 2 AM by locals, who promptly alerted Sharma and the fire department.

By the time Sharma reached the spot, the fire had already engulfed the shop’s inventory. Fire brigade personnel arrived shortly thereafter and managed to bring the blaze under control, preventing it from spreading to adjacent shops and averting a potential disaster.

“All the goods in the shop were reduced to ashes,” said Sharma. “I’ve suffered a loss of over Rs 10 lakh.”

Police have registered a case and launched an investigation. As of now, the cause of the fire remains unknown.
