RAJOURI JUNE 01:-Senior People’s Democratic Party (PDP) leader, Mohammad Farooq Inqlabi, has expressed deep sorrow and grief over the tragic demise of Choudhary Abdul Aziz, a resident of Tuli, Tehsil Chasana, who lost his life while crossing the treacherous upper reaches of the Pir Panjal range along with his livestock.
In a heartfelt message, Inqlabi conveyed his condolences to the bereaved family and paid tribute to the resilience and hardships faced by pastoral and nomadic communities in Jammu and Kashmir. He highlighted the urgent need for authorities to recognize the risks faced by such families who depend on seasonal migration for their livelihood.
Terming the incident “a grave reminder of administrative neglect,” Farooq Inqlabi urged the Lieutenant Governor’s administration to immediately announce financial assistance of ₹50 lakh for the family of the deceased, citing it as the least that could be done in the face of such an irreparable loss.
He also appealed to the government to initiate long-term support mechanisms for families of nomads and shepherds who brave hazardous conditions while sustaining traditional ways of life.
Farooq Inqlabi reiterated his party’s commitment to standing by the marginalized and vulnerable sections of society and called upon civil society and local representatives to come forward in support of the grieving family.
