Family left homeless after midnight blaze in Kalakot tehsil..

Rajouri June 12:–A family of 9 including 5 women left homeless after fire destroys house at Ranthal village in a remote area in Kalakot tehsil in Rajouri district in Union Territory of J&K.
The fire incident occurred in suspicious circumstances on the intervening night of Friday and Saturday.
As there was no fire brigade facility available in the remote area, neighbours and villagers managed to put the fire under control using local sources.
Sources said house occupants comprising of 6 adults and three children managed to escape without sustaining any injuries.
The family members had a miraculous escape because all the family members were sleeping outside the house due to soaring heat wave.
“At about 11.30 pm one of my sons woke up to attend natural call. As he entered the house he witnessed smoke coming out of one room. He raised the alarm to alert all the members” said Rajinder Kumar owner of the house.
He added soon on hearing cries villagers and neighbours also rushed to the spot and started efforts to control the fire.
“Our every effort to extinguish the fire failed to save the house articles, including furniture, cash, clothes, bedding etc in four rooms including two pucca. Now we are on the road,” said Rajinder.
Family members, including 4 daughters and three sons are left only with the clothes they were putting on.
On getting information about the inferno incident, soldiers from the Army unit operating in the area today rushed for the rescue of the family.
The Army has provided tent, clothes, and food items. as immediate relief to the affected family.
Villagers are also providing food and other immediate help to the aggrieve3d family.
Tehsildar along with a team of officials also visited the family and after accessing the loss, has sent a report to the Deputy Commissioner for immediate relief.
