DYSS Poonch Conducts Inter-Zone Cluster Trials at Sports Stadium Poonch Under Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan

POONCH MAY 22:-The Department of Youth Services & Sports (DYSS) Poonch successfully organized the Inter-Zone Cluster Level Under-14 and Under-17 Boys Trial-cum-Selection at the Sports Stadium Poonch in a highly competitive, disciplined, and enthusiastic atmosphere under the banner of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.

A total of 288 players participated in the selection trials conducted at the stadium. The event witnessed participation from three zones — Zone Poonch, Zone Nangali, and Zone Kanuyian — which were combined into one cluster for the final selection process to represent the cluster in the upcoming district-level competitions.
The participants displayed remarkable sporting talent, discipline, dedication, and enthusiasm throughout the programme. Students actively competed in various disciplines including Kho-Kho, Volleyball, Kabaddi, Chess, and Badminton, making the event vibrant and highly spirited.

The programme was organized under the directions of DYSSO Poonch Mohd Qasim and under the supervision of Zonal Physical Education Officers Madam Sarla Bakshi (ZPEO Poonch), Kuldeep Kumar (ZPEO Kanuyian), and Rajinder Singh (ZPEO Nangali).

The cluster tournament was formally inaugurated by DYSSO Poonch Mohd Qasim, who appreciated the efforts of the Department of Youth Services & Sports in providing a strong platform for rural youth to showcase their sporting talent and abilities.

Under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, around 3,160 participants took part in different sports events and co-curricular activities conducted during the day across the cluster venues, reflecting the department’s commitment towards youth engagement and the promotion of a drug-free society.

The dignitaries assured full support for future sporting activities and emphasized that such programmes help in developing discipline, confidence, leadership qualities, and team spirit among students. They also appreciated the tireless efforts and dedication of PEMs, PETs, PELs, and REKs of all participating zones.

Officials from the District Youth Services & Sports Office Poonch attended the programme as observers to ensure fair and transparent selection, while the field staff of all participating zones remained actively engaged throughout the smooth conduct of the event.

The overall programme was conducted under the supervision of DYSSO Poonch Mohd Qasim and Activity Incharge Vijay Kumar Sharma.
The programme concluded successfully with a renewed commitment by the Department to strengthen sports culture and identify emerging sporting talent from every corner of District Poonch.
